At Walnut Grove our Children´s programs are as diverse as the children we serve.
We'll have fun, play games, and get kids more connected with Jesus Christ with this high-energy program. Come once, come every week - it's flexible! We'll also have two special family events this summer where the whole family is invited to participate. Check out the calendar
- What does this cost you? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Donations of canned goods to support the MCEF Food Closet will be welcomed as the girls compete against the boys in the "CAN"teen!
- Who can come? Any kid in our community that is at least 4 years old through those who just completed 5th grade. You don't have to be a WGBC church member.
- How long does it last? Drop your kids off after 6:15 p.m., and pick them up at 8:30 p.m. We'll be in the Fellowship Hall in the lower rear of the church.
- What do you need to do? Just show up! No preregistration is required. Come once, come every week - it's flexible!

Our Sunday morning programs are designed with each individual child in mind. Each child is taught in an age-appropriate environment – from loving care in the nursery to the radical music in “The Clubhouse” your child will be cared for in a safe, loving and encouraging environment.
Let’s go on this awesome adventure as we learn some extreme sayings Jesus made in the Bible! On the set of EXTN – The Extreme Teaching Network, we will dig deeper into each of these sayings and what they mean. We will learn about loving, forgiving, having faith, establishing priorities, setting an example, showing humility, being peaceful, and acting maturely. This series will help your children better understand these sayings and make personal applications of each one to their own life.
Each week kids enter the Clubhouse to be greeted by our warm and friendly team of leaders. The sounds of energetic, worshipful music can be heard as children learn to worship God.
The Sunday School program at Walnut Grove is designed for today's kids. No Bible drills here -- watch our children learn how to apply what they've learned to their own lives!

This summer Walnut Grove Baptist Church will be partnering with your children collecting items needed at the MCEF Food Closet. Each week at Friday Night Kids Club the boys will compete against the girls as they carry in canned goods and food products - placing them at the “Canteen” to be counted.
MCEF (Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions) supports those in our community who may need help feeding their families during the summer. Kids Club is excited to support the Food Closet. Your children will be introduced to creative ways to become active in this mission focus. It will be an exciting competition each week, and the winners will be families in our community.
The cans of food your child brings in are going to help feed other children.

Our Children's Ministry exists to CARRY the message of Christ to the children of our community, showing them LOVE and acceptance. We will help them to UNDERSTAND and apply God's word, teaching them to BE SERVANTS and to SURRENDER themselves to God through worship.
The Kids’ Brigade recently took this question on and have developed a set of values to serve by.
CHILDREN (they are precious in His sight)
LOVE OTHERS (mutually respectful relationships)
UNDERSTAND & APPLY GOD’S WORD
BE PREPARED & PUNCTUAL
RELIABILITY (consistent & committed)
UNITY (partnering with parents)
LOVE SERVING JESUS
EXAMPLE – Set It! Lead By It!
SEEK GOD (Prayer)
“Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and priase your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
