The Road to Recovery:

Most of us need recovery from something:

overworking, anxiety, over-spending, fear, sex, addictions, perfectionism, gambling, over-eating, divorce, lying, grief, co dependency, anger, guilt, abuse, insecurity, hurtful relationships.

Coming February 10th, 2008!

We all have hurts, habits, and hang-ups that have contributed to our life problems. We've traveled broken roads with nowhere left to turn. Using the Christ-centered 12 steps we have discovered hope, help, and healing as we grow spiritually.

We will be supporting and addressing addiction issues for both individuals and their families.  Many people, just like you and me, are addicted, or are dealing with addiction issues in their lives.  We are here to support any and all people (perhaps even you ) who have decided that they are sick and tired of being sick and tired. The meetings/service will begin with music, food, and fellowship, and a message, followed by support groups.  Everyone is welcome to attend – we all have habits, hang ups, & hurts. 

We're NorthStar Community, a group of people who originated in Bon Air in 1999, and have expanded to Hanover County in 2008 to celebrate recovery, relationships and renewal. We share a common purpose: to find solutions.

A Turning Point

At NorthStar, we choose to turn from hurt to healing and recovery. We come together in a casual setting with other people who have learned that accepting God's grace in solving our problems leads to life-changing solutions and a pathway to peace.

We learn in community as we share refreshments, music, and relationships. NorthStar minister Teresa McBean presents a common sense message to help us apply Godly principles to everyday life.

NorthStar Community now meets in three locations in Virginia! Ashland, Bon Air and Walnut Grove!

Recovery and spirituality groups for men, women, and youth are also available, as is childcare. Call for details.
