Thanks to all who donated food items to the Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions food drive this month. About 14 grocery bags were delivered to its food pantry.

If you would like to help out at the food pantry on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, please contact Mae Antkievicz for more information.

Habitat for Humanity Affordable Housing Awareness Week

CVBM has the unique opportunity to support Habitat for Humanity’s 17-house Angus neighborhood building project in the Richmond area during Affordable Housing Awareness Week, April 20-26. CVBM Day is April 22 – only CVBM volunteers will work at the site. We need 70 volunteers to work in teams to build four homes and churches to prepare lunches for the volunteers. Habitat for Humanity provides tools on the site. Contact Ann McFaden

Walnut Grove has renewed its partnership with MCEF: Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions, a local cooperative program involving twenty-four sister churches working together to help meet the needs in our community. Our Missions Committee and Deacon Benevolence Team are coordinating with MCEF to provide monetary and material support to the MCEF closets and pantries, and in turn, to receive assistance and guidance when responding to requests for assistance from the Benevolence Team. Representatives of member churches meet monthly at Trinity Christian Church. For more information, please contact Mae Antkievicz or the church office and check out the missions bulletin board near the BYKOTA Sunday School class on the main hall of the education building. A list of churches housing closets and pantries is on the right – consider donating to MCEF the next time you clean house!
