Born and raised on a dairy farm in rural Nebraska, Craig graduated from Hastings College with dual degrees in Psychology and Physical Education. Craig also has a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Appalachian State University in NC. After graduating from college, Craig has been a High School and College football coach, a Juvenile Probation Officer, Clinical Counselor, Organizational Psychologist for the Virginia Dept. of Health, and manager for MediaOne and ATT Broadband. Currently, Craig and his wife Valarie are co-owners and operators of the School of Dance Arts, Inc., with Craig operating the Taekwondo and Self Defense part of the business.

Craig began his part time position with WGBC as Outreach Director in Sept. of 2004. Craig has had over 15 years of teaching Sunday School, was a member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes while at Hastings College and Appalachian State University, and was ordained as a deacon at Fairmount Memorial Baptist Church in 2001.
