| Dr. Drexel Rayford - Senior Pastor
drayford@walnutgrovebaptist.com November 6, 2005 marked a very special day in the history of Walnut Grove Baptist Church as we began our journey together with Drexel Rayford as Senior Pastor. We have been blessed to welcome Drexel, Julie and Melissa Rayford to our church family. Throughout his career, Drexel has used his many gifts and talents in the Lord’s service. After graduating from Appalachian State University in North Carolina, he served as a Missionary Journeyman in Austria; after earning his M.Div. from Southern (Baptist) Seminary, Drexel served as an interim pastor and chaplain in Louisville, Kentucky while working toward a degree in Advanced Clinical Pastoral Education. He was ordained and served as pastor in Kentucky during this time, and then went on to complete his Ph.D. in Psychology of Religion and Pastoral Care and Counseling. Since that time he has served as Volunteer Mission Projects Coordinator for the Virginia Baptist Mission Board, freelance speaker, consultant, writer, musician, teacher and conference leader.
