Summer Mission Trip:

Your summer has just begun and what a better time to kick it off than to be a servant of Christ with the students of WGBC. Our mission trips are hands on. The week is spent with kids at Boys & Girls Clubs, sorting food at food banks, serving lunch at a homeless shelter, doing manual labor and much more. This trip will blow your mind. Before you know it the week is over and it’s time to come home. The relationships that you make with those you serve and with the students in the group leave lasting memories.

Baptist World Youth Conference: Leipzig, Germany Summer of 2008

These are exciting times for Christians in the world today.There is a movement among God’s people and we are glad to be a part of it as we hope that you are.This does not ignore some of the tragedies that are facing our world right now but we need to be keenly aware of some amazing things that are happening around the world for the cause of Christ. We trust that you are “in tune” with these things and that your students are seeing how their faith, lived out, can change the world.

One opportunity that is coming upon us that will definitely help your students with understanding some of these amazing things is the Baptist Youth World Conference set for July 30 – August 3, 2008 in Leipzig, Germany. We anticipate over 6,000 students representing more than 100 nations to join together for 5 days of worship, fellowship, study, and family. And we invite you to come and be a part of this spectacular event.

The BYWC is held every 5 years and is sponsored by the Baptist World Alliance. Our last meeting took place in Hong Kong with nearly 4,000 students from over 80 countries represented. Approximately 150 Virginia Baptists attended this event and in 2008 we are hoping to double our participation.

Wednesday Nights:  6:00-7:30

Every Wed there will be a time of fellowship and then a time for small groups!

Interested in Small Groups? Come and engage with students in discussions on topics that are relevant to everyday life. We gather on Wed night from 6:00-7:30. Each week, there is time for fellowship and community followed by small groups. We will talk about relationships, abuse, social justice, spiritual formation and so much more. We would love for you to come and be a part of our community and in the "Dialogue of Life."

Sunday Night:  Various Times

Sunday nights will offer a variety of experiences.  We will have Bible Study in host homes, fundraisers for yearly activities, concerts, mission experiences and so much more.

We exist to be disciples of Jesus Christ.  Our actions and attitudes should exemplify that of Christ.

How do we strive to be like Christ?  We gather together every Sunday morning (10:00 a.m.), Sunday nights and Wednesday night (Hangout and Topical Discussion/Bible Study @ 6-7:30)

Throughout the year we do a little of everything:

We are a community of a diverse group of students from schools across the area, including Lee-Davis, Hanover, Atlee, Oak Knoll, Stonewall Jackson, Chickahominy & MORE.  We would love for U to come and be a part of our Christian community.
