I thought we might have some comments on Day 8 after those we received on Day 4. Anyone want to comment on today's readings?
WGBC Discipleship
The Discipleship Team invites you to jump-start your daily quiet time with inspirational thoughts from Joni Eareckson Tada. Join us starting April 20th as we journey together for 31 days “toward the heart of heaven and into the love of our Father and Savior”. We will read Joni’s book Intimacy with God together as a congregation.
Welcome! This is a place to read and comment on the 31 Days book. Still need a book? It's not too late! Contact Alan Fearnow or Jennie Rose

OK, I'll bite -- again with turning His back on Jesus....Joni and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on that interpretation! I stand with my original post from Day 4 about the crucifixion and Jesus' victory.
If the serpent idol in the desert was lifted up and people "saw and believed" (i.e. were healed), then I think the fact that Jesus was lifted up on the cross so that people might see his steadfastness and hear his testimony and believe is sufficient to understand the reference in the context of that culture.
I -- and you -- and you, too -- are beloved children of God who too often fall short of the mark, but we are redeemable, not repulsive. How much more was Jesus, perfect and of God's Holy Spirit, beloved and lifted up?! Isaiah says "dispised and rejected *of men*" -- not by God.
